Welcome Note
Welcome to our spring newsletter of 2013. The Aurora EDI Alliance Press is a quarterly newsletter dedicated to current issues, events, education and newsworthy items surrounding both EDI technology and the Aurora EDI Alliance. We would welcome any feedback from our readers on how to improve it.  The Aurora EDI Alliance is a tightly knit group of U.S. companies and specializing in the implementation and maintenance of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) in a variety of industries.  We are recognized experts in EDI, and can provide consulting, system analysis, design, development and training services as well as software implementation services.

CVS Pharmacy Trial EDI Program
We are very proud to announce that CVS Pharmacy has chosen Aurora Technologies/EDI Support to participate in their supplier enablement program.  Each new supplier will be automatically enrolled in the Easy Trade solution for 30 days at no charge.  Unlike other EDI onboarding programs, the supplier can choose to continue the service beyond the trial period, use their current EDI solution or choose another provider altogether.  There are no testing fees and the supplier experiences a smooth transition into EDI capability.  So far Aurora has sucessfully enrolled over 60 new suppliers since the inception of program three months ago and 24 of them of signed up beyond the trial period.

What's New with McAna EDI?
We are currently using a variety of products to satisfy client requirements in the following industries: customs brokerage, electric deregulation, HIPAA, automotive, packaging, logistics, and retail - hard and soft goods.  We regularly support clients remotely across the United States and Canada.  Our most recent project finds us implementing both a Radius ERP and an SAP integration.  We are always looking for a new challenge as the desire to learn something new never stops. Just this week we were asked to FTP a file for a user.  We set up ECS to receive an email from the user with an attached file for the Non-EDI Inventory Detail and automatically deliver the file via FTP to their customer.  Also, we just completed the upgrade to ECS 7 and Delta 6 to provide native 64 bit processing.  We will always strive to find a solution to fit your requirements.

Aurora President Featured by Providence College Newspaper

MG_(2) Elizabeth Nako of The Cowl, Providence College's student-run newspaper, recently wrote an article about Aurora President, Faith Lamprey. Below is a small sample of the article and the full text can be found here.

Faith Lamprey is a woman of many dimensions. Not only is she a professor at Providence College for the Department of Accountancy, but she is also an entrepreneur and a successful businesswoman. Lamprey, a Rhode Island native who has lived in different places all over the Northeast, knew business was her calling when she attended Elmira College located in upstate New York, where she double majored in economics and computer science.

While at Elmira College she was a distance freestyler for her college’s swim team in which she was the ECAC Athlete of the Year at her school. She then went on to receive her MBA from the University of Rhode Island. Her first jobs in the business world included a computer auditor and consultant for a big auditing firm.

Lamprey can attest well to the phrase, “When one door closes, another one opens.” After she was laid off from a software development firm, she then founded Aurora Technologies where she serves as the current president. Lamprey said with a smile, “I decided to open my own business and the company grew.”

Blog Highlight:  EDI Integration for the SMB Sector
Blog article discussing how EDI integration will be more and more common in the small to medium sized business.

Do you have a separate solution for every business process? There's one company that handles your Webstore, one that that deals with your EDI, another vendor for your ERP and the list goes on. Not so fast.  Now that companies are getting over their fear of spending money, we predict that...read more

Liaison VAN Migration
It's old news that Liaison Technologies acquired the NuBridges VAN but what many may not know is that the NuBrides VAN is now called the Liaison Exchange Network.  Liaison recently made the decision to migrate all of their customers who were previously on the Softshare Network over to the newly named Liaison Exchange Network.  It has been a tedious process, and not without some hiccups, but it is close to being complete.  The Aurora EDI Alliance would like thank all of our customers who have been so patient through this process!  We think ultimately everyone will be very happy with the new VAN.

Technical Terminology Time
Cache - This term is pronounced like cash and not caché like some might expect.  A cache is a method of storing information so that it is quickly and easily accessible.  The purpose, especially when surfing the 'Net, is so that your computer does not have to download everything from a Webpage over and over. Information is more easily accessed from your hard drive than it is from the Internet.  The images, URLs and pages are stored, and simply retrieved, when you visit that site again.
